The museum celebrates America's lighthouse heritage through educational programs, publications, films, festivals, living history, lighthouse trails, conferences, and other such offerings.

The Depot is directly adjacent to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal with panoramic views of the entire harbor. It includes a large pier for docking any future museum vessels, such as a lightship, as well as private tour boats.

Much of the property is already a park and esplanade, which is open to the public. A waterfront restaurant is in the planning stage and there are a series of events and activities such as concerts and tours planned for the site. Visit the website for more details.

The National Lighthouse Museum is located just east of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, along the North Shore Esplanade (enter at the junction of Richmond Terrace and Bay Street), St. George, Staten Island.
