Former Morandi chef, and founder of Gottino, Jody Williams takes over the former Pink Tea Cup space and turns it into her first French project, a "gastrotheque" called Buvette. Buvette Gastrotheque is inspired by European traditions of the trade honoring a history of craft and design in it's menu where each detail is meant to evoke a sense of story, place and delight. Part restaurant, part bar, part café, Buvette Gastrotheque combines the elegance of an old world cafe with the casual nature of a neighborhood wine bar. It is is a light filled space for an early morning espresso or a languorous lunch of shared dishes, even a spot for a late night digestif it is “a place committed to the pleasure of good food.”
Occupying a handsomely renovated store front on a tree lined block in the historic West Village, Buvette is open continuously (sunlight to candlelight) for breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring an array of French and Italian wine, as well the best and closest sourced meat and produce of the season.
