Parigot was established in 2006 by Chef Michel Pombet and his partner, Catherine Amsellem. Both grew up in Paris – the restaurant name giving ode to that fact (Parigot is French slang for Parisian). Since its opening, the corner spot has proven itself to be a place for everyone from locals to first time tourists to experience “the Parigot ambiance” in a relaxed family setting that takes you to a mini-Paris at the crossroads of SoHo, Chinatown and Little Italy.
Featuring art work by Guenter Knopp and other French artists, contrasted by vibrant colors and wooden molding, the setting is perfect for intimate meetings of two in a romantic atmosphere to large groups and private events.
Chef Michel developed his culinary skills by working at various restaurants over the decades such as Le Fouquets in Paris and Mexico City in the 70s and in star rated Manhattan restaurants throughout the 80s into the early 00s. As Chef/Owner, he offers classics ranging from garlic butter soaked escargot to steak frites in shallot sauce to Croque Monsieurs and Salmon Ratatouille, among countless others. With decades of experience, Chef Michel provides consistent and appealing foods.
