A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and classically trained in Europe, Chef/Proprietor John Greco has worked at such renowned restaurants at San Domenico, New York and Imola, Italy, Cipriani/Harry's Bar, New York and Venice, Le Cirque, and Torre di Pisa both of New York, where he was executive chef. With his classical training and broad experience, Greco now focuses his special creative cuisine sensibilities on his own restaurant, Philip Marie.
Greco’s cuisine is the fusion of familiar American tastes combined with the melting-pot influences associated with fine American cuisine. The menu takes diners home again offering such selections as parsley salad with country ham, fried green tomatoes, 21 vegetable soup, Jack Daniel's braised lamb shank with dirty rice, pine nuts, and currants, overstuffed chicken pot pie, and apple pie with cheddar cheese crust.
"I recognize that people today expect something new, especially in American cuisine," says Greco, "so we are bringing a unique twist to the traditional American menu."
Insider Tip: Every Tuesday evening Philip Marie offer a delicious Clambake for under $20.00; and Wednesday evenings live music from 7:00pm to 11:00pm.
