Jeremy Spector, of Employees Only fame, brings American comfort food to the East Village in sharable portions, with a remarkably devilish duck confit poutine. Oh, it's a small menu, to be sure, but everything is expertly curated, with smoked chicken wings that are dry-rubbed and hickory smoked are impossible not to love, a scintillating seafood spaghetti that mixes pasta with mussels, shrimp, squid, and octopus, and mains like crispy seared salmon, smoked pork loin, and a treasure trove of sides. This is not to mention the sensational burger the Brindle Room offers—although not explicitly on their menu, it's one of the most popular dishes at the restaurant—the patty is thick-set, big-boneless, steakhouse-ready meat, with cheese and a few other topical options, but the burger needs to frills to remain the unnamed, top-billed item that comes out of Brindle Room's kitchen.
